A trek into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheatre ringed by Annapurna I, Annapurna South and the fishtail summit of Machapuchare. The trail climbs from terraced Gurung villages through bamboo and rhododendron forest to base camp at 4,130 m. Shorter and lower than the Everest trek, it suits fit first-time trekkers. The descent finishes with a soak in the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda.
